The Cat's Diary:

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Jerks!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage. Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now.

NothingToxic

Breakfast (finish 10.30am) - 65g edam, an apple, half a medium tomato and seed mixture.

Lunch (finish 2.30pm) - grilled chicken with mexican sauce, zucchini and broccoli.

Well if you couldn't tell, my second meal was wayyyyyyy too early. Supposed to have 5hrs between but I just couldn't manage it. I woke up with a start when I quickly did the maths on how early I would have to eat to be ready for family lunch at 1pm today. So I dove out of bed and started breakfast at 9.30am. I tried to eat as fast as I could but I'm not one to gulp down food so it still took me an hour. All done, then everyone turns up 40min early to go to lunch! What the?! Who turns up 40min early to anything? I most certainly don't lol. I'm late to everything and expect others to treat me with the same courtesy. ;)

So I ate at a restaurant and I wasn't even hungry yet, it's 9.30pm and my hunger hasn't returned. One thing I'm noticing with Sureslim, I'm pretty much never hungry and have to remind myself to eat after 5hrs because I tend to forget.

Oh and I must report on the exciting news that I am indeed feeling thinner. The scales are only down a bit but I was actually happy with the way I looked today, for the first time in a long time. My too-tight pants fit fine and my top bagged a bit. Yay!

Friday 7 August 2009

Breakfast (finish 9.05am) - 25g rolled oats cooked with 75ml full fat milk and water, an apple and seed mixture.

Lunch (finish 2.30pm) - 130g smoked salmon in rye wrap with some cos and 135g grated zucchini, also about an apple-size of watermelon and one strawberry.

Dinner (finish 8.30pm) - 140g garlic prawns (the last of them 'til I get my chesterol checked again), 145g cauliflower and oil/vinegar mixture (I went a bit heavier on the oil this evening to make up for missing it yesterday. Was having problems seeing as well as normal yesterday while driving, which is probably because I use computers all day everyday, but still ... better to be safe than sorry).

I'm very sad to hear that John Hughes (pictured) has passed away. He made some of the best movies I've ever seen. Loved them when I was young, and love them now that I'm older. Rest in peace.

Super tired right now, had a full on day after a late night and I really haven't stopped for a good fortnight - even on the weekdays after work I've had visitors or places to be or stuff I have to get done by a deadline. Last weekend was jam packed, so is this weekend. I'm really pushing myself (otherwise I just stay inside and veg which isn't particularly productive) but it takes its toll after a while. I'm not 21 anymore lol

Actually I've been feeling thinner the last couple of days. I don't look it yet, but I'm feeling it. My stomach is sitting lower when I lay down and my stretchy pants aren't sitting as high as I like them (they're my gym pants and I wear them high so when I bend down or stretch, people don't get a gob full of me hanging out).

I went to a function last night (which I mention in yesterday's post but now I have a better chance to detail it) which I thought was going to be a gathering of charity donators with a few live bands and some speakers. I took a friend I haven't seen in aaages. We were a bit suspicious when the building we were walking into at that address had valet services (never seen that one before!) and a really corporate feel to it. Then we find the signs with arrows and follow them, all the way to the function. I get even more suspicious when reading the Guest Book and everyone has written a company next to their name. When I get into the door, a first person welcomes me and gives me a lapel pin and a second asks me where we're from. I'm like "Well, we're not really from anywhere". To which she discovers I don't represent a company and promptly apologises that this is a private function. Oops! So I ask where the other function for this charity is and pull out my invitation.

Yep, this is the one! The one with all the suits walking around a women looking corporately stunning (am I the only that likes evening office gear?). And there's me, wondering what "Dress: Lounge Suit" meant on the invitation. Hahahaha talk about a fish out of water!

Anyway, I went to the Mission Australia 150th Anniversary which had gatherings all over Australia and live feeds from each of them including the Govenor General. There were tons of expensive munchies on tray being walked around, but the best part is I got a really big catch up with one of my good friends. Afterwards he and I walked through the city to find some food (I felt like duck after seeing some on one the platters) so we did Chinese. Chicken feet anyone? What about an avocado smoothie? Herbed fungus? hahahaha

Awesome night and now I'm all inspired to go shopping and get some better clothes. Perhaps that's why I'm feeling thinner - mind over matter!

Thursday 6 August 2009

Breakfast (finish 8.55am) - two hardboiled eggs with 110g cauliflower and an apple.

Lunch (finish 3.10pm) - rye wrap with 130g turkey and 135g grated zucchini, mix of fruits (watermelon, canteloupe and honeydue) to approx size of small-med apple.

Dinner (finish 9.10pm) - (went out for dinner) cooked chicken in unspecified spicy sauce with gingered mushrooms and bok choy.

Sorry for not posting yesterday's plan until today, I didn't get on the computer to post for myself at all yesterday and even now it's the only thing I'm jumping online to quickly do.

Actually tonight I went to a Mission Australia function which I thought was going to be charity donators (like myself) getting together to listen to some good bands but it wasn't until I saw the guest sign-in book at the front and saw all the business names did I realise it was some sort of corporate gathering. Fun, loads of finger food (I didn't have any) and speakers and even a band but still, I was very underdressed, I'm not especially good and "hob nobbing" and what in the world would I have to talk about with people in industry?

Ah well, was good in all because I took a friend I hadn't seen in yonks so we had time to catch up and then we grabbed a bite to eat afterwards so we're well and truly caught up now.

Good night. It's 11pm now and I'm tossing over whether or not to have the oil/vinegar and seed mixture or just go to bed. I know they are musts but I didn't expect to be out so late and I'm worried if I have them now (especially the seeds) that I'll be up all night.

What do you think?

Wednesday 5 August 2009

Breakfast (finish 9.05am) - 200g yogurt, 100g kiwi and seed mixture.

Lunch (finish 3.40pm) - 130g tuna in my oil with salad of cos, cucumber, celery and half a medium tomato.

Dinner (finish 7.30pm) - grilled flake.

Had dinner too early yesterday because we were eating as a family (had a surprise guest) and went to the fish and chip shop (I got us out of the pizza and pasta place they were initially thinking of). I scraped off as much of the thin coating as I could and then that's all I ate. Eating too early meant I was absolutely stuffed and couldn't even fathom eating on top of it. So no apple, no veggies.

I like thinking better planning can avoid certain situations in the future but I don't think this is one of them. It's just going to happen every now and then and I just have to deal with it.

Tuesday 4 August 2009

Breakfast (finish 9.10am) - two hardboiled eggs, 110g zucchini, stevia-sweetened black tea.

Lunch (finish 2.50pm) - 130g smoked salmon an 135g grated zucchini in a rye wrap, an apple.

Dinner (finish 820pm) - 140g garlic prawns, 145g cauliflower, seed mixture and oil/vinegar.

I had my weigh in today - down 1kg! It's good, but, well I always expect more. It's still relatively at the start and the weigh in was a week and a half on the last.

Oh and I didn't realise but prawns are shellfish! I should have known, of course, but I didn't think of it. The ones I buy don't have the shells on them anymore hahahaha. I just bought a new box and they don't last very long so I had a serving tonight and will have the other tomorrow. Then no more until my next blood test that shows my cholesterol has decreased.

OK I'm going to make a deal with myself - spend only $350 per fortnight. That's $175 per week. I should be able to do that easy! Well, if I didn't have any bills. I do ...lol... but we'll see.

I've given up on my house building (which means I can't use the land in place of a deposit) so I need to save one instead.

Monday 3 August 2009

Breakfast (finish 9.15am) - 200g yogurt, a pear, today's seed mixture and a cup of sweetened peppermint tea.

Lunch (finish 2.45pm) - small serving of lentil soup, 2/3 of half a tomato (the rest was in the soup), an apple and salad with oil/vinegar dressing. Cup of black sweetened tea.

Dinner (finish 9.05pm) - 140g smoked salmon, 145g cauliflower.

Nice and full throughout today :)

That looks like a very nice ring, Sadekat :) Why don't you wear two rings instead of just the one? I'm not much of a ring (or even jewellery) person myself so I'm curious to find out how everyone has come to find out what suits them.

I have posted a pic of a ring I am looking at - it's three emerald cut diamonds in this layout but doesn't have anything on the shoulders like this one does. I like it. Also then a more decorative wedding band wont look overdone (I'm a fan of subtlety).

Sunday 2 August 2009

Breakfast (finish 2.30pm) - two hardboiled eggs, 130g capsicum/broccoli/zucchini, seed mixture and a cup of black stevia-sweetened tea.

Lunch (finish 8.15pm) - 110g cajun chicken, lettuce, celery, cucumber, oil and either an apple or a pear (haven't decided yet).

Took up a last minute shift tonight so working until 9pm. I find I find it hardest to properly fit in all my meals on a weekend because the priorities of sleeping in outweigh my priorities of waking up early so I can have breakfast at a decent time.

Yesterday went ok, I just skipping touching a single morsel of food (though I told everyone I thought the food was delicious - which is true, it smelled good) and had yesterday's dinner in the car on the way home (I wasn't driving - thankfully!).

I think I've decided on the ring I want. Typically it's like twice the price of all the other rings I've had a look at lol but it's so cute! Nice and simple, not all overbearing or chunky like a lot of the rings I saw for sale. It's a nice emerald cut. I'll have to take a photo and post it for you, along with a pic of our wedding venue when it's nailed down. :)

Saturday 1 August 2009

Breakfast (finish 10.15am) - 130g smoked salmon with 135g cauliflower and an apple.

Lunch (finish 4.35pm) - 140g garlic prawns with 145g broccoli and seed mixture.

Dinner - (finish 10.10pm) - 110g green capsicum, 65g edam cheese and a pear, oil/vinegar.

Gosh I love swapping around my meals - now it's the way I like it: heaviest at lunch, medium at breakfast and lightest at dinner. I was sooooo full that it was nearly six hours after breakfast before the clock reminded me it was time to eat. I was still stuffed from breakfast. And that's after a good workout at the gym with my trainer. Phew!

Thanks Madeleine, at least I know I'm not alone. Unfortunately everyone is going through the same idiotic issues. I just don't understand things fully if they're not logical.

Off to my aunt's bday this evening. She will be serving pizza for everyone - I plan to take some cheese and veggies to it so it looks like I'm eating party food and I can avoid the pizzas.
