Thursday 4 December 2008

7.40am
3 eggs fried in butter - 1.5g

10.05am
About 25g cucumber - 0.9g

1.10pm
Half a BBQ chicken - 0.5g

6.30pm
Large handfuls of almonds and pistachios (finished them so hopefully they wont be on my list again for a little while) - 14.6g

Beverages
12 glasses of water, 3 cups of black coffee.

That gives a total of 17.5g carbs for the day.

Oooooh notice there are no deli meats on today's menu?! ;)

Harry, I only weigh because I'm trying - loosely - to follow Jimmy Moore's challenge. Ordinarily I only weigh once a month or less and that's why I keep forgetting to weigh in each morning hehehe. I don't trust my scale and I couldn't care about numbers. The last time I let the scales rule me I dropped the weight training and picked up cardio because it satisfied the reading, not because it satisfied me. Not again! I love doing weights, heavy ones, and will keep it up. I like my bulgy arms and legs :)

  3. Erika,

You said, "I love doing weights, heavy ones, and will keep it up. I like my bulgy arms and legs."

Note to self: Make sure not to piss off Erika!

Note to Vadim: Careful with the woman talk around Erika! I think she could kick both our butts!

    Seriously though, two things:

    1. Good looking menu today.

    2. I made something new (for me at least) today for lunch. And, it didn't involve cured meats. So, I thought I'd mention it to you.

Do you like Mexican food? If so, you might enjoy what I had. I call it a "burrito in a bowl".

It's made with ground beef, sour cream, spicy salsa and a little shredded cheddar cheese. It's basically like the inside of a burrito (in the USA anyway) except that it doesn't have any pinto beans.

I know that Solshine had the very same lunch today. So, how crazy of an idea can it be?

    Keep that smile going!

  4. Ohhh goody, another woman who isn't afraid of lifting heavy weights! I used to have muscular legs, but wimpy arms. Now I have flabby arms and legs, but my goal is to be ripped up just enough to satisfy my muscular show-off needs, and still keep my husband happy with a femenine look. How did you feel this day without your deli meats?

  5. Erika,

I think lifting weights is a great idea too.

I mentioned to my boss one day that I was trying to lose some weight and that I was strength training.

He then warned me that I could actually gain weight strength training. He obviously missed the point that I was trying to lose fat and be more fit, not just see the numbers move down on the scale.

    Good for you!

    Alex

  6. I prefer strength training to cardio also - and I'm really enjoying the Fred Hahn Slow Burn method. Gets me in and out quickly but with a heck of a workout!
